Gaining access to a network's admin page

To manage your IRC network on IRC Driven, you must be verified as a network operator. This guide explains the prerequisites and how to submit a request so the Gain Access tab is replaced with Network Admin.

Prerequisites

Before you submit a request, ensure:

  • You are connected to the IRC network in question.
  • You have used /oper to activate your operator (o:line) status.
  • Your OPER mode is visible (nothing is hiding it).
  • You can receive NOTICE messages from unregistered users (no restrictions that would block the verification bot).

Submitting your request

  1. Open the network's page on IRC Driven and go to the Gain Access tab.
  2. Enter the nickname you are using on IRC (the one you are /oper'd with) in the field and submit the form.

A verification bot will connect to your network, check your OPER identity, and send you a confirmation link via NOTICE if the check passes. If you see an error or do not receive a NOTICE, ensure all prerequisites are met and try again.

After verification

  1. Copy or click the URL in the NOTICE from the bot.
  2. Open the link (or revisit the network page and confirm you are logged in).
  3. On the network page, the Gain Access tab should be replaced by Network Admin. You can then use the network admin tabs to manage the network.

If the bot fails (e.g. it cannot verify your OPER status), you will need to fix any issues (visibility of OPER, NOTICE delivery) and resubmit the request.
