Updating server information

Prerequisites

Before you can update a server's information:

  • You must be logged in and have network admin access for the network. If you do not, see the guide on gaining access.

Where to update server information

Server details (location, provider, SSL, IPv6, etc.) are edited per server from your network's Servers page:

  1. Open your network's page on IRC Driven.
  2. Click the Servers tab in the network navigation.
  3. Click the name of the server you want to update.
  4. On that server's page, click the Update Information button. A form will open where you can edit the server's information.

What you can set

Use the form to keep the following information accurate. This helps users and search filters find networks that match their needs (e.g. SSL or IPv6).

  • Location — The country or region where the server is hosted. Choose from the dropdown.
  • Provider — The hosting provider or company (e.g. OVH, DigitalOcean, your own domain). Free text.
  • Server description & history — Optional markdown text describing the server, its role, or history. Shown on the server's public page.
  • SSL/TLS — Enable if this server requires SSL/TLS connections (e.g. port 6697). Turn this on only when clients must use encrypted connections to this server.
  • IPv6 — Enable if the server accepts IPv6 connections. Setting this helps users who filter by IPv6 support.
  • Hidden — If enabled, the server is hidden from public server listings but remains in the database. Use for internal or backup servers you do not want advertised.

After editing, click Update Information to save. Updated location, provider, SSL, and IPv6 are reflected on the network and server pages so visitors can see what your network offers.

Why keep this up to date

Accurate server information helps:

  • Users — They can see which networks support SSL or IPv6 and choose a server that fits their needs.
  • Discovery — Filters and search can show your network when people look for SSL-capable or IPv6-capable networks.
  • Trust — Correct location and provider information makes your listing more transparent and credible.

We encourage you to review and update server information when your infrastructure or policies change.
