[00:12:02] KnownSyntax Looks like Mibbit hasn’t satisfied my webIRC request either yet.
[00:37:38] KnownSyntax 3:59:11 PM <KnownSyntax> Also noticed my kids got me to level 70 lmao
[00:37:47] KnownSyntax So they finished the pass for me 🤣
[00:40:15] KnownSyntax I think I just need to finish off that stupid medal backing for this season still
[05:38:45] KnownSyntax thats legit lol
[06:51:22] KnownSyntax All of that Turkey and Ham
[06:55:27] KnownSyntax Sup!
[06:56:03] KnownSyntax Yeah was the test for the PING piece
[06:56:31] KnownSyntax I reverted back to 6 alphanumeric and it works but >6 faults at Tunix
[06:56:37] KnownSyntax Yes it all works flawlessly now lol
[06:56:51] KnownSyntax So that one bug is for sure closed with those changes you made
[06:57:51] KnownSyntax Yeah it looks good, reminds of unreal/inspircd as well lol
[06:58:46] KnownSyntax I think Brandon noted that, we talked about how things were done with some channel modes/features lol
[06:59:02] KnownSyntax UtlimateIRCd is before Unreal, way back in the day lol
[06:59:49] KnownSyntax Shoot, I remember using ratbox and their fork of Charybdis before they stopped maintaining it
[07:01:09] KnownSyntax Yeah, I think there are a few channel modes that are desynced as well (like +L to link to other channels if +l is set).
[07:01:20] KnownSyntax But that's pretty sweet lol
[07:02:04] KnownSyntax I remember using your mIRCd version back in the day, I think my friend & I were working on mIRC based services to support it
[07:02:16] KnownSyntax Like back in 2014(?)-ish
[07:02:23] KnownSyntax +L does not work, no
[07:02:43] KnownSyntax +l does and other channel modes that are commonly used
[07:03:15] KnownSyntax Yeah, makes sense. I think I tried to set it a few days ago and then noticed there was no channel mode file for it yet
[07:05:04] KnownSyntax Which is odd because you have +T to prevent knocks lmao
[07:05:41] KnownSyntax I know a lot of trolls use /knock, or they will /notice the channel as well or specific members of the channel
[07:06:11] KnownSyntax But +L is super common when it's used for closing a channel, but forcing users to a replacement
[07:06:34] KnownSyntax Wait maybe I’m mixing my channel modes now
[07:07:24] KnownSyntax Ah its +K
[07:07:42] KnownSyntax I don’t think I've ever set that channel mode in my life before
[07:08:00] KnownSyntax I have not yet, but it seems stable with the huge influx of supernet bots I got a few weeks ago
[07:08:22] KnownSyntax Basically was a DNSBL line applied every few seconds
[07:08:34] KnownSyntax Yeah I meant unreal has +K for no knocks
[07:08:38] KnownSyntax No lol
[07:09:00] KnownSyntax I haven’t ever used +K in my life, totally forgot it existed
[07:09:46] KnownSyntax Maybe back in the day it was helpful but yeah not sure of its actual usage these days
[07:10:05] KnownSyntax Agreed. Half the time they just /cs info and message the owner/founder
[07:10:41] KnownSyntax I’m sure I could probably tackle it with brandon lol since I think he was looking at adding some additions on
[07:11:53] KnownSyntax Was hoping that also adding it to a few other crawlers would help promote interest for you, like on IRCDriven’s forums for example. This reminds me of Daniel dipping out because of the split random channel join issue and thought we were trolling him
[07:12:48] KnownSyntax Meh I’m sure I could work on the documentation side of it for you whenever I have free time. It's very closely related to existing documentation with various changes but nothing major major
[07:17:06] KnownSyntax Correct, maybe would think about adding some type or limit as well if other IRCds have it to prevent abuse (like X knocks per Y timeframe).
[07:17:34] KnownSyntax Yes, although I think tjr lives on the East coast same with Aaron
[07:17:42] KnownSyntax No clue where Brandon is at
[07:18:35] KnownSyntax I’m curious what other ideas IRCv3 has to be fair. At this point it's really like making IRC more like Discord without the fun UI
[07:18:39] KnownSyntax Or slack actually
[07:19:10] KnownSyntax The day IRC supports voice chat I would be weak
[07:19:33] KnownSyntax LightIRC had that back when Flash was okay on browsers and man did it got torn up
[07:19:38] KnownSyntax Aaron lmao
[07:20:18] KnownSyntax It would be cool to see that, but not sure if people would ever shift back (I mean I could see some especially when it comes to companies and owning their own communication platform/tool).
[07:20:33] KnownSyntax True
[07:21:22] KnownSyntax The only big push with clients these days has really been from the webapp side. I remember being a beta tester with IRCCloud and man it has pushed the creation of others like thelounge, where it's a hybrid bouncer/client all in one
[07:21:40] KnownSyntax I think I have one friend who made a custom client with websockets
[07:23:44] KnownSyntax For me I really learned about IRCCloud because of the cross-platform sync and mobile apps. Before then, I was using basically mIRC & Colloquy on my iPhone
[07:24:12] KnownSyntax Mobile apps and being able to jump around. the lounge doesn’t have that native support nicely
[07:25:04] KnownSyntax Plus I don’t even know any other iOS clients that work outside of Igloo or even far worse would be quassel
[07:25:39] KnownSyntax I think they stole that theme from IRCCloud since it has had that from almost day 1 lol
[07:25:58] KnownSyntax Same with the other dark themes, etc. I know on a desktop they support custom themes via JavaScript injection
[07:27:11] KnownSyntax Yeah, I think on my Android tablet the only client I really like was CoreIRC. Used to use LimeChat back in the day
[07:27:50] KnownSyntax 100% has been
[07:28:03] KnownSyntax Which seems like many clients these days
[07:28:20] KnownSyntax Still run into people using NoNameScript which has been dead since like 2008
[07:29:11] KnownSyntax Was a great skin on top of mIRC if you didn’t know mSL to make your own dialogs, or themes on events
[07:30:44] KnownSyntax I remember I had tons of scripts for mIRC I pushed on Hawkee. Sucks that domain expired and someone else sniped it
[07:31:35] KnownSyntax Yeah when he pushed 7.x it was a game-changer. 6.35 and below had a lot of faults
[07:32:08] KnownSyntax I even remember writing SQL within mIRC for a few game bots I helped with lol
[07:32:15] KnownSyntax Good times back in the day
[07:33:55] KnownSyntax I learned the other way. From mIRC, to Java, C/C++/C#, then SQL for backends and somewhat of Python recently
[07:34:22] KnownSyntax With other languages spread in, like assembly to try to make mods for Roller Coaster Tycoon lol
[07:35:14] KnownSyntax Yeah ne either. I thought using variables and appending channel/network was legit, before learning of writing .ini files, and then learning of hash tables
[07:35:29] KnownSyntax Or not realizing to clean output/input
[07:35:41] KnownSyntax Like $ip was the typically troll
[07:35:53] KnownSyntax Would expose your IP and people would instantly DOS you lol
[07:37:25] KnownSyntax It is
[07:37:46] KnownSyntax The latest version was on Hawkee.com before the site got sniped
[07:40:17] KnownSyntax It's also funny because every few years someone thinks of making a new mIRCd lol like this person now; https://github.com/Jigsy1/mIRCd
[07:40:41] KnownSyntax Idk why it's an odd thing but I've seen tons, although yours was always the most complete feature wise.
[07:41:10] KnownSyntax Which is how I ended up Google’ing the name and found out you made a Python IRCd and had to give it a try
[07:42:44] KnownSyntax Interesting yeah no idea, and didn’t even look that up before on Python IRCds lol
[07:45:19] KnownSyntax Lol
[07:45:41] KnownSyntax Yeah, not sure. But like I said hopefully others will check it out since its on the IRCDriven forums
[07:45:53] KnownSyntax Although no clue how many people even check those and just go there to list their network
[07:46:10] KnownSyntax Lmao
[07:47:20] KnownSyntax Well, I’m gonna hit the sack. Been up for almost 24hrs due to the Black Friday shopping crap.
[07:47:39] KnownSyntax I’m sure whenever Brandon gets back he’ll have some questions for you lol
[07:48:20] KnownSyntax Maybe they have a delay before killing it off? Idk, Linode has always been super strict but other companies were always super late (like Namecheap)
[07:48:34] KnownSyntax Oh well speaking of his ass
[07:49:16] KnownSyntax Brandon: was saying you would have Qs for Sirius the guy who made this IRCd lol
[07:55:13] KnownSyntax no, I made services for a mIRCd but wasn’t EIRCD.
[07:55:19] KnownSyntax Years and years ago
[07:57:12] KnownSyntax Well, I’m off. 1AM here and still have one damn kid awake somehow. Catch you all later.
[16:02:14] KnownSyntax The hub could probably have the longest uptime but yeah this leaf server has been the test bed lol
[16:45:31] KnownSyntax Got it to work nicely? Yesterday you were saying it wasn’t the best
[16:58:08] KnownSyntax Lol
[16:58:21] KnownSyntax Still have that running the whole network or now a subnet part?
[17:09:32] KnownSyntax Was gonna say I can’t imagine with vlans you'd probably have to reboot every 4 hours lol
[17:09:51] KnownSyntax I wonder what the temps would get under high load too, from a lot of devices connected
[17:10:30] KnownSyntax Like my household network has at any time 20-26 devices connected, which was the downfall of the Netgear Nighthawk I had that only could support 15 max at any one time.
[17:24:02] KnownSyntax You should? I use my own modem with Cox, and a router separate since the modem/router combos suck
[17:24:24] KnownSyntax Just have to use the web chat to give them your modem’s serial #. And takes like 15mins for it to all sync and work
[17:24:47] KnownSyntax I just use a gigabit Netgear modem, and a Linksys Mesh router system
[18:09:17] KnownSyntax For this network? Fremont, CA
[18:09:42] KnownSyntax Aaron that was low too since people were using the internet. I pay for 1Gig down 300MB up lol
[18:09:54] KnownSyntax Still not bad brandon,
[18:10:02] KnownSyntax Or you mean my
[18:10:11] KnownSyntax Home where I showed that screenshot? Phoenix, AZ
[18:20:36] KnownSyntax Ah you meant my home
[18:20:54] KnownSyntax Would be Phoenix, AZ. Download speed is slower because I'm on a node furthest from the home router
[19:00:27] KnownSyntax Might be some type of threshold of nonpayment before they can it
[19:13:53] KnownSyntax I was thinking of picking up that PS5 deal for $350 at Target but with the storage space of games I would need to spend like $250 for a 1-2TB NVMe
[19:14:03] KnownSyntax Well was thinking yesterday morning when I was there
[19:14:26] KnownSyntax Kinda need to ask someone at PlayStation when I’m there in 2 weeks if they can buy me it with their discount lmao
[23:01:23] KnownSyntax Yeah the storage space is my issue its so tiny
[23:01:33] KnownSyntax Like the 4TB within my PS4 is like 80% full lmao
