[19:43:13] KnownSyntax These monitors don’t like swivel sideways, and without that they are way too big for this desk layout. FML

[20:16:33] KnownSyntax Okay never mind got it to work, odd I had to plug with the power cable a bit

[20:51:53] KnownSyntax But now I can only get 1 4K display working and the other goes to 1080p mode. Checked the DP cables and they are fine (can power off one monitor and get 4K on either that way). I wonder if this dock is the limitation since I can’t update its firmware from my work computer but I also don’t have another windows laptop to be able to update it with either sadly as there is a note some firmware revision fixes a dual 4K display problem.

[21:54:10] KnownSyntax Oddly enough when I plug in my MacBook I can get both monitors at 4K (although they mirror each other due to a limitation with this dock with Display MST).

[21:57:39] KnownSyntax man I really wonder if it’s this dock, it isn’t using thunderbolt but it’s specs show it can support dual 4K. And I can’t tell what firmware version without running an admin exe. My other desktop doesn’t even have usb-c ports and I doubt it would even do shit if I used an adapter

[22:09:15] KnownSyntax hm and now Intel graphics shows the wrong display as a novatek display, hence why it shows it’s not able to support 4K at all or even > 1080p display resolution even though it’s stretched for a widescreen. Interesting..
