[11:43:15] stranger ty!
[11:44:38] stranger in principle in DW the bot could also be multi-intance and "be" in several worlds, current SDK supports that
[11:44:48] stranger but I never got as far... :)
[11:45:22] stranger so maybe for now a bot per world it is
[11:46:30] stranger the tricky part is of course it only works if people run those bots consistently, otherwise it's nice to play with but is not really useful as a service because the bot would be mostly offline
[11:47:08] stranger especially e.g. for world owners themselves - they would maybe want to connect with their world from somewhere, but when they are offline their computer is off too
[11:47:34] stranger not everyone runs their own servers like us :)
[11:48:59] stranger but that's a possible step in the future, first of course is to test how it works, for that no "service" running is necessary
[11:49:16] stranger nevertheless just for me to know, your serv is running linux of course?
[11:50:42] stranger I though something like that. so you'd prefer running the bot natively if you do it
[11:51:29] stranger btw for server running it might be not quite as efficient as server apps should be... but that's again something for the future maybe
[11:51:43] stranger currently I'll plug in IRC support and we'll see how it works
[11:53:13] stranger if you know a good C++ IRC client library feel free to share, otherwise I'll find something myself
[11:55:47] stranger many I find seem abandoned, but I guess considering IRC age something that worked 6 years ago still works today?... :)
[11:58:39] stranger hmmm hmm "HexChat is a discontinued Internet Relay Chat client and is a fork of XChat." - from Wikipedia
[11:59:22] stranger ha, it's good, maybe people will find better chat apps
[12:00:31] stranger I still think XMPP is also good and more modern/powerful. Perhaps you can try it as a user first to see if you want to set up a server
[12:01:16] stranger my bot can support both (or more) simultaneously though, I made it modular already. Need just to plug in the right lib and write a snippet of code to wrap it
[12:01:41] stranger cool :)
[12:02:40] stranger btw you said ppl can't see my domain, but I think I see yours (ok you have a "real" domain netadmin.deltaworlds.com) but I think I also saw one for a guest connected here yesterday
[12:02:47] stranger was something-something verizon.com
[12:02:56] stranger which I could guess means USA :)
[12:05:54] stranger right but the "handle" I don't set up myself do I? it is related to my ISP?
[12:06:01] stranger still learning how IRC works :)
[12:06:45] stranger okay... so that means there's some privacy implications (I don't mind you seing it, just in general)
[12:07:02] stranger because ISP already tells you quite a bit
[12:10:28] stranger ah ah I see, so now I'm bit like "tourist" here :)
[12:14:16] stranger testing
[12:15:14] stranger this interface is looking so oldschool, text commands, passwords in plain :))
[12:17:21] stranger for hostserv what should the domain be? one I own or one you provide such as deltaworlds.com?
[12:17:59] stranger currently I'm using Konversation from KDE. not sure if it's considered "modern" :)
[12:18:14] stranger just cause I already had it installed
