[18:47:27] KnownSyntax Damm my 11-year-old drive is starting to fail, at least a consumer-grade drive made it 64k power-on hours for a NAS/home server setup lol
[20:22:26] daniel2 damn
[20:22:39] daniel2 I've got some NAS drives from like 2016 still going.
[20:22:47] daniel2 My newer NAS drives have failed more than my older ones.
[20:23:06] daniel2 My 80TB 8x10TB raid has had 4 drive replacements, these are Seagate.
[20:23:41] daniel2 3 of them I was able to warranty, but you know what bugs the shit out of me the most. One drive was an actually warranty replaced drive, they fucking sent me a DOA one, and I can't do anything cause the warranty had expired for the original drive.
[20:24:19] daniel2 I always keep a spare HDD so when I would get the warranty replacement drive I would store it.
[20:24:29] daniel2 Seagate is kind of shit.
[20:36:46] KnownSyntax Mine is a WD lol
[20:37:08] KnownSyntax But its so old it doesn't even track like total write/reads, only that my bad sectors are going up by like ~500-1k/day at this point.
[20:37:32] KnownSyntax New drive coming in the mail tomorrow, so gotta transfer everything over to it which will be fun
[20:47:33] daniel2 lol guessing not like a RAID or anything
[22:20:10] KnownSyntax No, not in RAID.
