[11:06:02] sushi-chan gentoo but thats different. Hiragana and katakana are LETTERS, that translate into SOUNDS. Like the hiragana か is pronounced KA. but doesnt mean anything in particular. UNLIKE CHINESE CHARACTERS, they represent something, like one character can mean "tree" or "you" but won't translate a sound, just meaning something like 书 is tree in chinese, but it doesnt know how to be pronounced becuz its not letters it is chaarcters represent
