[15:05:59] TaZeR before WPA became the standard over WEP i didnt pay for internet for years....

[15:06:39] TaZeR sure, any password that is a basic word with a number i can crack in reasonable amount of time with dictionary attacks

[15:07:05] TaZeR i just have to refresh my memory on grabbing wpa2 handshakes and all that

[15:15:15] TaZeR actually what reaver does is exploit the WPS to gain the plaintext password, its not the same as brute force cracking

[15:15:31] TaZeR so if the WPS is disabled it removes that vulnerbility

[15:16:15] TaZeR there is a few steps to authentication im not sure of all the terms, first you need to gain what they call handshake auth

[15:16:32] TaZeR that makes you able to interact with the AP further

[15:17:07] TaZeR usually u can accomplish that by monitoring the network and waiting until a client connects/disconnects and grab their mac and spoof it

[15:20:11] TaZeR yep monitor mode, some are missing the ability in their drivers so u gotta make sure u have one that works well with it

[15:21:59] TaZeR back when i was cracking WEP networks i had to go through a lot of trouble to find and apply patches to my drivers to make it work correctly it was quite a hassle

[15:22:19] TaZeR i couldnt figure out what was wrong but whenever id go into monitor mode it would only read channel 0 pr -1 or something stupid

[15:22:56] TaZeR but when i cracked that first network and got the password and had free internet i felt great pride

[15:24:30] TaZeR the cracking was pretty much automated by the tool... it was getting it setup properly that was the hard part

[15:27:33] TaZeR right now im operating with an intel wireless 7265 as well as my trusty usb atheros based tp-link card with detachable antenna
