[03:35:41] irc_standardnick ComputerTech, do you listen to podcasts?
[03:36:41] irc_standardnick ComputerTech, I was listening to one called "A British Scandal" recently. Seemed quite decent even though if I ain't familiar with most incidents down under
[03:37:10] irc_standardnick Polio intensifies
[03:38:03] irc_standardnick artemis, what client on phone?
[03:38:48] irc_standardnick Fun fact, polio is all but eliminated from all countries of the world except two.
[03:39:07] irc_standardnick afghanistan
[03:39:26] irc_standardnick ski, New York it was, IIRC
[03:40:21] irc_standardnick ComputerTech is Irish, right?
[03:42:02] irc_standardnick tr, talking about Asia, I saw some videos about cuisine in Maldives or something. They have proper snakes for dinner in mainstream cities.
[03:42:30] irc_standardnick ski, I thought only a small contingent of folks in the US had polio cases again. Dunno about Australia
[03:43:35] irc_standardnick ski, the latest set of episodes was on "Murdoch phone hacking scandal". The best I could find till now was "Litvenko affair". It's about poisoning by Russians in UK
[03:44:05] irc_standardnick ski, Oh, that's just a term I borrowed from cricket. I used to watch it quite much back in the day
[03:45:00] irc_standardnick Well, everyone seems to forget New Zealand; even in maps :p.
[03:45:49] irc_standardnick New Zealand is a good country, it ought to be, it damn has half the population of our national capital
[03:46:22] irc_standardnick ComputerTech, I dislike U2 :p
[03:47:06] irc_standardnick ski, Yes. Many LoTR folks even go there to see some of that stuff. Funny thing is many folks in NZ call their religion 'Jedi'
[03:47:15] irc_standardnick in a fun way
[03:48:04] irc_standardnick ComputerTech, I thought U2 seemed inspired by The Clash and the latter is one of my favorite bands. But I sleep whenever U2 comes on the playlist
[03:48:56] irc_standardnick I don't think so, ski. It's just that folks there are quite progressive, so many atheist folks just recount themselves as 'jedi' in official census
[03:49:51] irc_standardnick Where are you from ski ? I am from India.
[03:50:14] irc_standardnick Ah, one of the best places to live on this planet
[03:50:29] irc_standardnick The most populous state :p
[03:51:19] irc_standardnick Bangalore was grown exponentially over decades. It was once a city was large planned roads, wide gardens. Now, it's a mess in terms of urban planing
[03:51:45] irc_standardnick ski, Northern India. Bangalore's quite far from my place though I do know couple of guys there.
[03:52:06] irc_standardnick Biryani is good. Hyderabad and Lucknow are two cities in India serving good biryani
[03:52:42] irc_standardnick Kashmir is slightly dangerous. Militancy still there. It's beautiful but with an element of danger still
[03:52:57] irc_standardnick ski, heard of Harold Bluetooth, the king? :p
[03:53:30] irc_standardnick ski, have you eaten kebabs? They can be quite tasty as well
[03:54:33] irc_standardnick lol
[03:55:15] irc_standardnick I still have to eat an authentic pizza; not the bastardized american dominoes chain version
[03:57:00] irc_standardnick ski, the pizza variety in India is rather limited. When the best pizza is from two American chains that are considered inferior in US themselves, you know it's not the best place for a pizza
[03:57:54] irc_standardnick Ironically, food parts from other parts of India can be tough to get in India at the other side of the country. For eg, north east India serves delicious pork; but I only ate them once in the national capital.
[03:58:30] irc_standardnick ski, Yes, with Rishi Sunak at the helm, things are gonna get easier with the visa process now :p
[03:59:09] irc_standardnick ski, PM of UK
[03:59:44] irc_standardnick I would like to UK or for that part, most countries. I believe each country has something different to offer except for active warzones
[04:00:03] irc_standardnick ski, Oh, I tried to make a joke because he's the first Indian origin PM of UK :p
[04:00:34] irc_standardnick like to vist
[04:02:28] irc_standardnick ski, how fast do the trains go there? I just like trains in general.
[04:03:02] irc_standardnick I am just as confused by Indian calendars as an AMerican
[04:03:27] irc_standardnick France has fast trains but not Maglev. Only Shanghai has proper Maglev tracks that go past four hundred kmph
[04:04:18] irc_standardnick NiniGeo2, yes, it bypasses some of their more earthquake sensitive zones the current bullet train passes through
[04:04:50] irc_standardnick ski, neat, a new hobby I am learning of
[04:06:09] irc_standardnick IIRC, maglev trains rise off the track at high speeds
[04:06:42] irc_standardnick Heard of the term 'petrichor' ?
[04:07:17] irc_standardnick It's used to describe the fresh smell after the first rains fall on the soil/surface after a long time
[04:10:24] irc_standardnick ski, I studied some Sanskrit in school but have forgotten most of it now :p
[04:13:41] irc_standardnick Well, Sanskrit definitely is old and has quite some volumes of literary works written in it. But that's all I know of it. I can't read original or modern day Sanskrit. Ironical since I studied middle English Shakespeare plays in the original English back during school
[04:14:05] irc_standardnick I ought to know more about my country than another language :p
[04:14:56] irc_standardnick ski, That's like tenth century old, isn't it? Only English majors in college gonna study that. Plus, is the language even English in it. It's almost a different language
[04:15:53] irc_standardnick Cool. I dunno any botanist in real life
[04:17:03] irc_standardnick Ah
