[00:04:50] NiniGeo2 Wooooooo band-aids are magic!
[00:14:18] NiniGeo2 :3
[00:17:10] NiniGeo2 Wooooooooo~
[00:37:52] NiniGeo2 It's a wrinkly hairless cat.
[00:38:33] NiniGeo2 What about freshly baked pecans right out of the oven?
[01:04:27] NiniGeo2 I'm sure between all of us we can come up with answers for you Foxy :)
[01:06:47] NiniGeo2 Uh oh, a pop sounds bad!
[01:06:54] NiniGeo2 It could be a blown capacitor, yeah o:
[01:07:07] NiniGeo2 Look on the board and see if you can spot any caps that are smoking or leaking or otherwise obviously exploded!
[01:09:39] NiniGeo2 Foxy do ya have a multimeter at home? You might need to measure voltages and stuff to see what's workin' and what'sn ot.
[01:10:03] NiniGeo2 Hmmmm that is gonna make things trickier!
[01:10:27] NiniGeo2 I think you need to isolate whether the power supply is the issue, or if the motherboard or one of your components is the issue.
[01:11:37] NiniGeo2 Yeah you can look up in your (IIRC it's motherboard) manuals what blink-codes and beep-codes mean for your specific hardware.
[01:12:07] NiniGeo2 Oh yeah feel free to unplug and replace a power supply, but I'd never again try to repair a power supply! Not after...last time <______<;
[01:12:38] NiniGeo2 Even if it's unplugged, those huge capacitors still hold a charge for like hours, and they have soooooo much energy in them! D:
[01:13:17] NiniGeo2 It's super dangerous. One time I was being dumb and trying to repair one and everything was unplugged (power was off) but I touched a screwdriver to a rail that was connected to one of the capacitors and got a huge nasty shock through the screwdriver handle @_____@!
[01:13:51] NiniGeo2 I think that you'd want to check first and make sure that your power supply is actually the part that died on you o:
[01:14:24] NiniGeo2 I'd unplug one of the molex connectors and test that the 12v (yellow) and 5v (red) rails have the appropriate voltages.
[01:15:42] NiniGeo2 If you're gonna replace the power supply, make sure to check and see what the wattage (600W, 800W, etc.) for your power supply is, and also check and make sure to get one that fits the same case-size (full ATX, micro-ATX, etc.). Also be sure that the replacement has enough molex connector pins for all of your devices (hard drives and video cards typically need their own power connectors,
[01:15:42] NiniGeo2 etc.)
[01:16:20] NiniGeo2 Mmhmmm, higher wattage is okay, but lower wattage is likely not going to work!
[01:16:26] NiniGeo2 :3
[01:18:06] NiniGeo2 Oh yeah some computer manufacturers make it annoying to replace parts.
[01:21:01] NiniGeo2 Did someone turn Clive_Rosfield into a moogle? :o
[01:21:49] NiniGeo2 Moogles are from Final Fantasy.
[01:27:34] NiniGeo2 Did you drink a lotta water today deadly? I hear that's supposed to be healthier for your kidneys!
[01:28:11] NiniGeo2 OIC
[01:28:36] NiniGeo2 That is a lot.
[01:30:40] NiniGeo2 D:
