[03:04:58] g0frr hello everyone!
[03:05:05] g0frr I hope you're all having a wonderful evening
[03:05:37] g0frr not bad just got back from hanging out with friends and writing some scripts
[03:06:20] g0frr python
[03:06:43] g0frr i made a little fuzzer to find some hidden stuff in a site a friend made
[03:07:31] g0frr what have you been up to ComputerTech ?
[03:09:10] g0frr ah yes let me know if you ever want someone to pentest your site
[03:16:48] g0frr ubuntu has become quite unstable in the last few years :(
[03:18:00] g0frr lol
[03:18:03] g0frr mint is supreme
[03:18:27] g0frr these days i just use debian. Flatpaks made it daily usable for me
[03:19:10] g0frr yea ubuntu server is fine\
[03:19:14] g0frr i was thinking workstations
[03:20:33] g0frr I've had issues with ubuntu on very new hardware and with snaps
[03:20:47] g0frr which made me go with debian and opensuse depending on the usage
[03:20:57] g0frr thing is
[03:21:16] g0frr yea i can spend time getting rid of everything or just use the upstream lol
[03:21:26] g0frr debian 12 seems good
[03:21:34] g0frr I didn't like it for workstations before
[03:21:41] g0frr ubuntu minimal still pushes snaps
[03:22:35] g0frr yes but then why not just mint
[03:23:03] g0frr its just ubuntu with ease of use improvements
[03:23:10] g0frr it uses flatpak instead of snap which is way better
[03:23:26] g0frr at least for me
[03:23:44] g0frr ew
[03:24:00] g0frr i consider myself to be a well adjusted person
[03:24:44] g0frr jk i did use arch but nvidia drivers kept breaking
[03:24:45] g0frr i like fedora
[03:25:08] g0frr fedora is peak linux workstation to use gnome. Opensuse is peak linux to use KDE
[03:25:30] g0frr both integrate the DE very well respectively
[03:25:55] g0frr gnome is just misunderstood
[03:27:11] g0frr i don't like legacy stuff for the sake of legacy
[03:27:19] g0frr for legacy windows-like i rather cinnamon
[03:27:47] g0frr i set up an older person in my family who missed windows 7 with mint+cinnamon and they felt right at home
[03:28:08] g0frr yea
[03:28:20] g0frr i never downloaded it but saw the video by that guy who made the windows task manager
[03:28:49] g0frr i think ReactOS is a viable windows 2000 alternative :p
[03:28:59] g0frr perhaps with some rough edges
[03:30:13] g0frr does anyone remember that windows98-look a like project that's not linux based
[03:30:22] g0frr cant remember the name
[03:30:31] g0frr reactos is kinda rough to run
[03:30:43] g0frr im surprised it hasn't improved much in decades
[03:31:06] g0frr now this is an OS that gets me excited
[03:31:24] g0frr not linux based, not BSD based, completely from scratch with its own thing going on and pretty icons
[03:31:43] g0frr well its an attempt to create a foss BeOS replacement
[03:33:12] g0frr its proprietary trash so you're not allowed to know
[03:37:32] g0frr if humanity collapses someone will develp network for CollapseOS just to run irc
[03:44:27] g0frr irc_standardnick, I haven't but I did try GUIX+Hurd and its shit lol
[03:45:00] g0frr irc_standardnick what do you mean it completely exists?
[03:47:22] g0frr ah I see
[03:47:35] g0frr I tried guix+hurd quite a while back but only in a vm
[03:47:50] g0frr I've never tried that on metal
[04:20:50] g0frr gn everyone!
[04:20:53] g0frr be safe
