[02:00:17] Neo_Nemesis I think the issue with those kias is the bearing cap bolts for the piston rods. I've torn down a couple blown up Kia engines and each time I found that one of the bearing caps for the piston connecting rods yeeted out thru the oil pan.

[02:02:58] Neo_Nemesis and I think it may be under torqued cap bolts, as I usually find at least of one the cap bolts still instact in the oil pan. Like it worked itself loose, then the second cap bolt just snaps off

[02:04:07] Neo_Nemesis but ive also found both bolts snapped, all it really needs is to work loose enough to move around enough to weaken then snap the bolts

[02:05:03] Neo_Nemesis idk i never fixed it, at that point its warranty and I toss all the stuff in a box and send the car off to Kia and let them deal with it

[02:06:04] Neo_Nemesis Kia knows its a problem and, on some models, they have lifetime engine replacement warranty, and others have like 100,000 mile engine warranty
