[14:39:05] nj yeah i can imagine. tbh, some of the jokes were lost on me as a younger person too, even as a native english speaker

[14:40:45] nj i read an english translation (from german) of the metamorphosis by franz kafka, and that didn't really work very well in english. so many really long sentences, that probably work fine in german but don't work very well in english at all
