[13:21:57] norex I do most of my C in mplab or stm32cube and have the autcomplete mostly disabled. Everything else is python/sql/bash in vi or nano. My laziness manifests in my tool choice I think.

[13:29:38] norex run linux at home too for a whole lot of stuff

[13:31:51] norex jantz, the embedded side is a pretty similar technology stack to what you find in the ECU of a 5-10 year old automobile/motorcycle. DsPIC/Stm32 microcontrollers + CAN transceiver and then a whole lot of outputs for driving dynamic loads at 12-24 volts.

[13:35:19] norex FPGA rarely, asics never and firmware (at least as far as my terms go) is what I'm writing and flashing the microcontrollers with.

[13:36:22] norex This is for mobile heavy industry stuff. We don't have cutting edge requirements but the products tend to have a long service life.

[13:37:05] norex And most control loops don't need to complete more than 1000 times per second to do their work.
