Before you did a written learners then after 2 years you could do a practical test to get a probation license and then 2 years after THAT you had to do another practical to get off the probation

[21:26:48] Dr_DICK Now you get off the probationary license after a year of license ownership with no issues (and over 18)

[21:27:25] Dr_DICK A know a lot of people that never went for that final test and just lived/avoided getting caught with the conditions

[21:31:45] Dr_DICK I must've been dressed scary enough coming back from a metal concert because nobody really talked or messed with me except for an old man at one point, I gave him $5 and a joint
