[15:48:04] yb I've studied computers since I was in my single digits. Somehow that's not enough to earn a wage and I'm already getting replaced by people younger than me.

[16:13:05] yb My business setup offices by running cable, installing computers and phones and printers, configuring software, migrating websites, updating databases, providing software support, and anything else that the customer asked for. And I did it for $250/month + labor.

[16:15:19] yb I never made a profit. I had to write it all off as expense though I spent many unbillable hours researching to the point I had no social life.

[16:17:10] yb The companies who hired me wanted my documentation. They canceled my contract and I handed over my work.

[16:18:20] yb When they couldn't support the system they got a cloud service and lowered their expectations.

[16:20:35] yb Now they spend more on someone to sit on a phone with support for the cloud service than they spent on me.

[16:23:45] yb I didn't get paid enough and was replaced by people who know less.

[16:29:57] yb When I couldn't make a profit in tech I landscaped yards, carrying tons of rock and dirt in my pickup truck.
