[15:45:11] & elcasey Milambar: bad news there, sir :( She dislocated her hip and was could barely walk. And it came back out after resetting. She was in terrible pain. So she passed away on Friday. 13yrs 9mos. She was a great doggo! <3

[15:46:38] & elcasey Milambar: but she got a peanut butter cupcake and a piece of bacon and she was being lovingly petted as she slipped away. So I don't think it is a terrible thing, actually. Her pain is over now.

[15:50:38] & elcasey miep: same here. closing on my house sale this week (FINALLY). so I've been staying off and on with my folks for the last year+ while I sorted everything out. New place = new dog (for me, they will have their own)

[15:51:49] & elcasey miep: just gonna rent. I don't want to stay in my hometown (I do NOT like it and it is growing like crazy) so it seems foolish to buy again, especially with interest rates the way they are (I had one of the last 2.9% mortgages)

[15:53:15] & elcasey made a few bob on the house anyway, so it will get me MOSTLY out of debt. Should be debt-free within a year or so. And then the world's my oyster, I suppose

But all my costs were not fancying it up, they were moving, removals, storage, getting the stucco fixed, painting, all the sort of shite you NEED to do before you sell it. Everything is so bloody expensive now.

[16:01:01] & elcasey Milambar: I am actually looking into Georgia as a possibility, maybe Romania. But I will do a lot of traveling (I HOPE) over the next few years once I am out of debt fully. And if I fall in love with a place, I'll see about moving there!

[16:01:45] & elcasey Milambar: I lived in Moscow for a year as part of a student thing, but I wasn't a student haha (i.e., not enrolled in a university at the time). Long story, really. Will tell it later. But I enjoyed it.

[16:02:36] & elcasey Turkey is not high on my list. Some beautiful places but really not sure I wanna live there.

[16:04:28] & elcasey former Yugoslavia is a possibility for me. I am very "Serbia-adjacent" :P and Croatia looks lovely (but getting expensive because everyone figured out it's lovely)

[16:06:57] & elcasey slovakia looks great to me and my company has offices all over eastern europe (but not keen on taking a local salary :P)

[16:07:27] & elcasey I don't think I'd have much trouble picking up Serbo-Croatian or the dialects if I was immersed, given my existing Russian knowledge
