[04:15:40] KnownSyntax Waiting for the mobile app next lol
[04:16:34] KnownSyntax I bet it would be used tbh, and no other crawler or IRC stats have such a thing against
[04:16:36] KnownSyntax *aha
[04:41:59] KnownSyntax I use an iPhone 15 Pro Max as my main daily, but also just bought a Moto G Play (2026) as my side gig phone
[04:42:24] KnownSyntax Had a client request some android app testing so pretty much got it for just that (and was only $35 at Walmart new).
[04:42:42] KnownSyntax Can’t wait for the iPhone Fold though. Gonna drop some serious $$ for it
[04:48:45] KnownSyntax side dude, bro lmfao
[04:48:58] KnownSyntax side gig, specifically companies from https://utest.com/
[04:50:01] KnownSyntax “Highest monthly earnings $597.99 in September”
[04:50:13] KnownSyntax $7,928.97 Lifetime earnings
[04:50:17] KnownSyntax Basically free cash tbh
[04:50:37] KnownSyntax Maybe only do this for like a few (<2 hours) every other weekend.
[04:52:02] KnownSyntax Although the more I use the moto g I’m kinda digging it for sure, maybe it’s cause the screen is bigger than my Pro Max, or the style, but for sure would use that as my daily without any issues lol
[04:56:12] KnownSyntax Been at it for a few years tbh, I think someone on Reddit invited me for some project. Totally thought it was a scam, but all was so legit. Been doing it ever since.
[04:57:14] KnownSyntax Some projects are like one-time on call (zoom), others are weekly test cycles, etc. I’ve been invited to bunch of crap but a lot isn’t worth my time or conflicts with my main job. I’m sure you could easily do this as your main source of income if you got a ton of invites and a high ranking (I was Silver, now I’m Bronze).
[04:59:06] KnownSyntax But it’s basically all either bug hunts on beta/prod sites, testing based on steps (to find bugs), or to test workflows for sites doing migrations. Lots of random name brand companies, lots of weird requirements (hardware, extra devices, ISP related equipment hardware, gaming consoles, etc).
[05:06:32] KnownSyntax that was my first job after college (Quality Assurance Tech -> Analyst) at U-Haul for their website and mobile apps
[05:07:18] KnownSyntax Only lasted a year there though, until I realized everyone around me was a dumbass completely including my manager (first manager was legit but got fired for a guy on my team bitching cause he wasn’t promoted and I was instead after 3 months).
[06:52:21] KnownSyntax For me the job was alright but the other testers just either sucked, or thought they were gods because they knew SQL and other stuff for the backend dev database and wouldn’t share their queries for crap I had no clue was related or required to do at the time
