Network Submissions
Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about submitting your IRC network to our index.
To submit a network you need: at least 1 channel with 2 users, and 5 global users minimum. You must have an actual domain name and an email address associated with that domain (for verification). View the full requirements and submit at our network submission page.
This usually happens when your network has a /LIST delay—you must be connected for a certain number of seconds before the server allows /LIST. When submitting, specify this delay in the form. Resubmit and make sure the list delay option is set correctly.
Your IRC daemon exposes a NETWORK token in its ISUPPORT response. The network name you submit must match this token exactly (case-insensitive). To find yours, run
/quote version or /raw 005 in your IRC client and look for NETWORK=YourNetworkName in the output. The name you submit must match—e.g. if the token says NETWORK=TechNet, submit "TechNet" (not "Technet" or "tech net"). This is required by IRC standards.
Most of the process is automated. A staff member performs a final manual check before adding the network to our indexer. This usually completes within 24 hours. You’ll receive an email when your network is approved.
