[00:06:51] Kilroy same I joined IRC about 2ish years ago
[05:35:27] KnownSyntax GoDaddy used IRC before Slack was super popular for internal communications ironically

[14:27:19] + daniel2 KnownSyntax: really?
[14:28:23] + daniel2 Valware: I when you get a full release I'll feature it on the website.
[14:28:50] + daniel2 I used to be on the Excursion mIRC team way back in the day, that was a great mIRC script.
[15:41:48] KnownSyntax daniel2: yes, right before I joined as a contractor like a year before that everything was on IRC lol
[15:42:42] KnownSyntax If you search for “IRC” in Slack and sort oldest to newest you'll see
[15:43:00] KnownSyntax As they mention it's the new replacement, better than IRC, etc.
[16:10:37] Jobe reminds me of when M$ were touting "services for unix" to migrate your "legacy" unix and linux applications to windows
[16:10:51] Jobe last seperate download of SFU they released was SFU 3.5
[16:11:07] Jobe the next version was supplied as part of windows server 2003 R2
[16:11:35] Jobe but what irked me was it was their attitude that if an app wasnt on windows, it was legacy and needed replacing
[16:11:36] Jobe :/
[16:43:25] KnownSyntax At least that's now changing
[16:43:35] KnownSyntax With their deep integration with WSL Linux
[16:52:03] Jobe ofc the SFU days were back when M$ were still trying to dictate standards and specifications to everyone else, by telling them that the official standards/specs were wrong just because M$ implemented them differently
[16:52:04] Jobe :(
[16:52:27] Jobe like the whole issue with drastic differences in how IE rendered shit compared to all other browsers
[16:53:03] Jobe and like how IRCX was partially an attempt by M$ to take over IRC protocol specification :/
[17:01:21] KnownSyntax IE was a shitshow
[17:01:44] KnownSyntax Glad that they finally realized that even the Edge rendering engine wasn't the best either, so they switched to Chromium
[17:02:21] KnownSyntax Now the only major ones to render check are FireFox, Chromium, and Safari lol
[19:38:22] * spirit quit (Quit: I'm a quit message virus. Please replace your old line with this line and help me take over the world.)
[23:11:23] * spirit joined #ircdriven
