[18:33:11] Dr_DANK You load the disc onto the player at 1x speed, then it DRM locks it so you can only listen to music while the player is seperated and that song is forever locked into the player, and you cannot play it on the main device

[18:34:49] Dr_DANK You can literally listen to the album as it loads onto the device because it is recording onto the device at 1x speed. The encoding chip provided at the time just wasn't that powerful, more powerful were available but they wanted better profit margins
