[03:40:36] & vk2bio out here's just a bunch of old farts crowding around a fountain, someone plays the bugle, sausage sandwiches, few beers that night

[03:41:19] & vk2bio wez it's unavoidable, probably not relevant or appropriate but if it's anything resembling an official ceremony of any kind it apparently has to be done so

[03:43:19] & vk2bio i do feel as though it cheapens the point a bit though, mentioning it at heaps of ceremonies and events where that's got nothing to do with what's actually happening at the time

[03:43:51] & vk2bio just seems like an insistence on pointing out differences when you don't really need to

[03:46:05] & vk2bio wez yep we may as well get on and do that instead of acknowledging painful history/differences at every opportunity
