[02:58:15] @ No_One/rizon Fun fact! ComputerTech can not eat lamb, as he would never know if he was eating one of his own children.
[03:03:24] @ No_One/rizon Fridge is getting full of quail eggs again. Time to make more pickles
[03:03:52] @ No_One/rizon Soon they will be laying enough per day to start selling their eggs
[03:04:43] @ No_One/rizon They are good
[03:04:53] @ No_One/rizon My recipe taste almost like cheese
[03:06:18] @ No_One/rizon No
[03:06:49] @ No_One/rizon This is my quail hutch https://i.imgur.com/SkQGaji.jpg
[03:07:37] @ No_One/rizon My chickens free range
[03:07:45] @ No_One/rizon The quail do not
[03:08:28] @ No_One/rizon My Guinea fowl rarely come back to the coup
[03:09:03] @ No_One/rizon Only time of the year I even have to actually feed the Guinea is winter
[03:10:08] @ No_One/rizon They just wander about eat ticks and scream incessantly
[03:10:24] @ No_One/rizon If they free range they eat a lot of wild veg and bugs
[03:10:55] @ No_One/rizon The tick eaters are the Guinea
[03:12:02] @ No_One/rizon My Yeah they must love that
[03:12:56] @ No_One/rizon When the Guinea are still keets I like to hold one up to an outdoor light bulb at night. The got nuts and eat all the insects around the bulb
[03:15:52] @ No_One/rizon Yes
[03:17:21] @ No_One/rizon Just after their first introduction to sand bedding https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqCK8PXuFsI
[03:18:59] @ No_One/rizon The cake is a lie
[03:19:41] @ No_One/rizon Those in the sand bath are yes, they had just been moved from the brooder to the main hutch
[03:20:50] @ No_One/rizon Some still had yellow feathers on their face
[03:21:09] @ No_One/rizon They are starting to lay now though, just a few though
[03:21:44] @ No_One/rizon Zack: I know the cake is a lie because I already sold the cake and spent the money from it
[03:21:52] @ No_One/rizon What you are after is long gone
[03:22:14] @ No_One/rizon No that's the guy selling you cake
[03:22:35] @ No_One/rizon Smaller and less work than chickens
[03:22:42] @ No_One/rizon Also a lot dumber
[03:23:09] @ No_One/rizon Friendly little birds though
[03:24:02] @ No_One/rizon Generally speaking yes. But you do have to watch aggression
[03:24:12] @ No_One/rizon They have a pecking order too
[03:24:43] @ No_One/rizon Males will fight, scalp each other and peck eyes out
[03:24:53] @ No_One/rizon If you ahve too many
[03:25:23] @ No_One/rizon chickens you need about 1 male to 12 hens
[03:25:35] @ No_One/rizon Quail is 1 male to 4 or 5 hens
[03:25:56] @ No_One/rizon So they tolerate better
[03:26:37] @ No_One/rizon Mind you quail hens can be mean too. If the hens do not like a rooster they will kill him
[03:26:47] @ No_One/rizon WHich is rare in chickens
[03:27:09] @ No_One/rizon But they are generally more chil than chickens are
[03:28:59] @ No_One/rizon I guess you can say the sit on more extreme ends than chickens. Generally more tolerant and friendly, can have a better ratio. But they tend to take more greater measures when unhappy
[03:29:48] @ No_One/rizon Yeah a lot of places restrict chickens. ANd quail will work well in those places
[03:30:15] @ No_One/rizon Quail for meat is also good, as they never get as tough as chicken meat does
[03:31:03] @ No_One/rizon Mind you, "tough" chicken meat has a great taste and is great for stew and soup
[03:33:07] @ No_One/rizon Tough chickens make better soup than tender do
[03:36:02] @ No_One/rizon Yes
[03:36:21] @ No_One/rizon Better feed to product ratio
[03:37:07] @ No_One/rizon Also many people who are "allergic to eggs" can eat quail eggs
[03:39:39] @ No_One/rizon Maine, US
[03:41:08] @ No_One/rizon Yes we do
[03:41:19] @ No_One/rizon Mind you this year very few of them
[03:41:40] @ No_One/rizon Normally by now they are everywhere
[03:41:58] @ No_One/rizon But barely seen any
[03:42:39] @ No_One/rizon yeah
