[00:00:24] Kuro-chan/rizon buying more ammo for the brutal slaughter of innocent duckies?
[00:05:53] Kuro-chan/rizon yes, of course you are.
[01:00:22] Kuro-chan/rizon banging duckies again?
[01:00:24] Kuro-chan/rizon disgusting...
[01:44:15] Kuro-chan/rizon oh No_One
[01:44:19] Kuro-chan/rizon good timing
[01:44:27] Kuro-chan/rizon have you ever tried the sponge approach to making bread?
[01:45:06] Kuro-chan/rizon No, mine was made today.
[01:45:16] Kuro-chan/rizon I tried the supposed technique today when I made bread and was scared by how much bigger and softer the loaf was
[01:45:28] Kuro-chan/rizon I also baked it in glassware
[01:46:11] Kuro-chan/rizon the book I was reading last night called it that
[01:46:30] Kuro-chan/rizon (I am always looking for ideas to improve how I make it; lately it felt like the loaves were getting a bit flat, lately)
[01:46:47] Kuro-chan/rizon ok I made a sandwich bread today, though I didn't use milk for liquid
[01:46:59] Kuro-chan/rizon I started with eggs, sugar, butter and salt and creamed the f-bomb out of them
[01:47:05] Kuro-chan/rizon like I do with cookies and cakes
[01:47:18] Kuro-chan/rizon so the yellow in the egg was pretty much gone.
[01:47:30] Kuro-chan/rizon I then added the warm water, flour and yeast and let it do it's thing
[01:47:34] Kuro-chan/rizon no, yeast bread, not cake
[01:47:48] Kuro-chan/rizon a little hard to tell if the yeast was working, but I saw enough bubbles in the mix
[01:48:04] Kuro-chan/rizon added the rest of the flour and worked it until the tackiness is gone, like I usually do
[01:48:17] Kuro-chan/rizon let it rest a while with another bowl flipped upside down and on top
[01:48:31] Kuro-chan/rizon then I did the normal thing: punch down, divide, flour a bit more to remove excess moisture
[01:48:47] Kuro-chan/rizon shaped and laid dough balls in the glassware
[01:48:58] Kuro-chan/rizon and was almost scared by how much they raised
[01:49:10] Kuro-chan/rizon the slices are too big for the toaster XD
[01:49:18] Kuro-chan/rizon and my raising time was less than normal.
[01:49:20] Kuro-chan/rizon Yeah.
[01:49:24] Kuro-chan/rizon I was really happy with the results.
[01:49:31] Kuro-chan/rizon I'll do the same next time and see if that happens again
[01:49:37] Kuro-chan/rizon I'll use a pinch less dough as well
[01:49:47] Kuro-chan/rizon Well
[01:49:58] Kuro-chan/rizon it was double the height of the glassware
[01:50:03] Kuro-chan/rizon I had to stop where it was. lol
[01:50:20] Kuro-chan/rizon In the normal place it sits in the oven, it was actually at risk of hitting the top of the oven
[01:50:39] Kuro-chan/rizon The extra leftovers from the next time I'll make into some cinnamon or butterscotch rolls
[01:51:00] Kuro-chan/rizon butterscotch rolls with cream cheese frosting are amazing :D
[01:51:13] Kuro-chan/rizon I was shocked by how fluffy the inside of the loaves
[01:51:20] Kuro-chan/rizon heard multiple compliments about it, today
[01:51:27] Kuro-chan/rizon which I don't normally hear, even when fresh
[01:51:38] Kuro-chan/rizon so yeah, I want to try this process again next time
[01:51:42] Kuro-chan/rizon see if I get the same results.
[01:51:55] Kuro-chan/rizon It really wasn't any harder to make it this way
[01:52:18] Kuro-chan/rizon since the glassware was mostly lined with parchment, it came out quite easily
[01:52:31] Kuro-chan/rizon just had to wait the better part of an hour for the glassware to cool down so I could clean them
[01:52:33] Kuro-chan/rizon lol
[01:53:46] Kuro-chan/rizon I always had better results with glassware when I used them for making my cinnamon rolls
[01:53:55] Kuro-chan/rizon the drawback to that was the cleanup
[01:53:57] Kuro-chan/rizon LOL
[01:55:57] Kuro-chan/rizon with cinnamon rolls?
[01:56:04] Kuro-chan/rizon you forget about all the stickies that remain behind :P
[01:57:01] Kuro-chan/rizon being deaf has it's advantages
[01:57:08] Kuro-chan/rizon Not having to hear people's b.s.
[01:57:13] Kuro-chan/rizon You can always close your eyes to avoid seeing it
[01:57:33] Kuro-chan/rizon actually the scrubbers I have are made from phentex
[03:19:45] Kuro-chan/rizon 🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊
[03:21:04] Kuro-chan/rizon I met a fox a few weeks back
[03:21:08] Kuro-chan/rizon He didn't stick around for long
[03:59:07] Kuro-chan/rizon Ducky! :)
[18:04:34] Kuro-chan/rizon :o
[18:04:35] Kuro-chan/rizon HI SKI!
[18:07:19] Kuro-chan/rizon I did yesterday
[18:07:25] Kuro-chan/rizon made some of the best bread I ever have
[18:07:27] Kuro-chan/rizon :o
[18:07:30] Kuro-chan/rizon and some apple muffins
[18:08:27] Kuro-chan/rizon yeah
[18:08:34] Kuro-chan/rizon it was crazy how much it raised.
[18:08:50] Kuro-chan/rizon I'll have to bake the loaves a bit lower next time
[18:09:36] Kuro-chan/rizon Yeah that twitter thing it starting to get a lot of attention
[18:10:06] Kuro-chan/rizon People are going on twitter posting about how average and ordinary they are and how their dictatorship defines them as being intolerable, a real Hitler quote.
[18:10:14] Kuro-chan/rizon oh whoops
[18:10:20] Kuro-chan/rizon I posted those links in the wrong channel XD
[18:12:37] Kuro-chan/rizon I have baked for years. Any tips I can offer?
[18:15:05] Kuro-chan/rizon I have never touched a bread machine. All of mine have been hand kneaded and done in the oven.
[18:15:13] Kuro-chan/rizon I made three changes to how I made my loaves last time
[18:15:22] Kuro-chan/rizon and they turned out so big they don't fully fit in the toaster.
[18:15:47] Kuro-chan/rizon and it was getting a bit frustrating since they didn't seem to be raising as well as of late; was worried either I had forgotten to do something or there was an issue with my ingredients.
[18:15:58] Kuro-chan/rizon and I go from it feeling substandard to suddenly it's great
[18:16:24] Kuro-chan/rizon not just great but one of the best batches I ever made
[18:16:49] Kuro-chan/rizon I went from packets to those small jars to bulk purchases to get it wholesale
[18:17:01] Kuro-chan/rizon though I haven't seen the stuff I use at wholesale as of late which is a bit concerning.
[18:17:23] Kuro-chan/rizon fortunately, I have 4 or 5 of those right now, so It'll be a long time before it's an actual issue.
[18:17:30] Kuro-chan/rizon I may have to go back to bulk purchases, eventually.
[18:17:34] Kuro-chan/rizon I normally use active dry
[18:17:46] Kuro-chan/rizon so it needs a few minutes in warm water to properly proof
[18:18:56] Kuro-chan/rizon because I haven't used them for much of anything, I can't really say.
[18:19:08] Kuro-chan/rizon the general store owner gave me some leftover yeast she couldn't sell.
[18:19:15] Kuro-chan/rizon The packets worked fine, but the jar stuff did not
[18:20:32] Kuro-chan/rizon Those kind of jars are common up here
[18:21:09] Kuro-chan/rizon What I usually get at wholesale are the 2lb. cryovac packs
[18:21:27] Kuro-chan/rizon which, price-wise, is about as good as I can do and it's reliable stuff
[18:22:19] Kuro-chan/rizon I use it for making pizza dough, burger buns, cinnamon rolls, etc.
[18:22:34] Kuro-chan/rizon the cryovac simply has the air removed from the package
[18:22:52] Kuro-chan/rizon I was thinking of trying to make donuts, some time.
[18:23:40] Kuro-chan/rizon I knead mine on a wooden board after I hand-mix it with a spoon in my large mixing bowl
[18:23:53] Kuro-chan/rizon (I normally make a big enough doughball for several loaves as a time to justify having the oven on
[18:24:39] Kuro-chan/rizon That's what I normally get (though not at walmart)
[18:25:10] Kuro-chan/rizon as yes, I recall it is a complicated process of stretch, fold, chill, stretch, fold, chill, etc.
[18:25:36] Kuro-chan/rizon start with easier something and get a feel for what works before you start with crazy.
[18:27:01] Kuro-chan/rizon you need to be careful what you include
[18:27:10] Kuro-chan/rizon for instance, cinnamon affects yeast and raising negatively.
[18:27:23] Kuro-chan/rizon I have used fennel in my rye bread without problems.
[18:27:42] Kuro-chan/rizon yeah I had to find that out the hard way when trying to make cinnamon raisin bread.
[18:27:54] Kuro-chan/rizon a light rye, yeah
[18:34:49] Kuro-chan/rizon that looks a bit burned. :p
[18:35:00] Kuro-chan/rizon reminds me of my raisin molasses bread
[18:46:09] Kuro-chan/rizon pumpernickel bread has cocoa in it
[18:51:34] Kuro-chan/rizon though I find it doesn't taste chocolate-y
[18:51:47] Kuro-chan/rizon I haven't made whole wheat in a while. I should get back to that :o
[18:52:07] Kuro-chan/rizon it was having the same problems as before, like with my white bread.
[18:52:21] Kuro-chan/rizon so if I have fixed the problem, then I should have super fluffy whole wheat.
[19:00:02] Kuro-chan/rizon yeah
[19:00:05] Kuro-chan/rizon dense dough balls ;(
[19:00:09] Kuro-chan/rizon even after extra raising time
[19:00:13] Kuro-chan/rizon not good :(
[19:11:28] Kuro-chan/rizon just think rye with molasses and cocoa
[19:13:13] Kuro-chan/rizon never done that
[19:29:31] Kuro-chan/rizon ^ that
[19:29:51] Kuro-chan/rizon I use large mixing bowls and to avoid a draft, I'll cover the bowl with another bowl
[19:30:07] Kuro-chan/rizon that helps to keep the moisture in the dough and gives it a good, controlled environment
[19:38:10] Kuro-chan/rizon hey socraticDev \o
[20:09:24] Kuro-chan/rizon I miss the ducks' ability to live... since they all end up dead.
[20:09:26] Kuro-chan/rizon ;-;
[20:38:02] Kuro-chan/rizon awesome
[20:44:56] Kuro-chan/rizon you can haz!
[21:10:03] Kuro-chan/rizon MINE
[21:10:15] Kuro-chan/rizon ;-;
[21:13:43] Kuro-chan/rizon ducks are for hugs
[21:13:55] Kuro-chan/rizon that there is an unhealthy obsession for banging ducks is a little concerning
[22:58:19] Kuro-chan/rizon The advantages of a desktop, it seems.
[22:58:25] Kuro-chan/rizon Or even a laptop
[23:07:31] Kuro-chan/rizon ducky! \o/
