[21:07:40] ski/rizon bonsoir :)
[21:08:10] ski/rizon hmm .. i dunno
[21:08:18] ski/rizon maybe somewhere around there
[21:08:27] ski/rizon haven't given it much thought
[21:08:57] ski/rizon my mothermother became 99
[21:13:17] ski/rizon ComputerTech, i heard that health effects of wine is for a moderate amount
[21:14:13] ski/rizon (iirc, something about heart ? or maybe it was blood vessels)
[21:14:22] ski/rizon heh, like having one glass for dinner, i guess
[21:14:54] ski/rizon well, if the bottle is small, only contains enough for a (normal-sized) glass
[21:14:57] ski/rizon i guess
[21:15:30] ski/rizon does it normally mean "a small bottle" ?
[21:15:51] ski/rizon (in french, there's the cognate "flaçon" (sp ?))
[21:16:38] ski/rizon there are these rather flat type of bottles/flasks (sometimes made of metal, i think. perhaps also plastic), that i think people keep in a pocket in their coat, often with an alcoholic beverage in it
[21:17:29] ski/rizon i guess maybe it skips a beat ?
[21:17:44] ski/rizon perhaps you could ask a medical doctor to check it up, just in case
[21:17:48] ski/rizon not sure
[21:18:03] ski/rizon i think it happens sometimes. but perhaps it happens for you more often than usual
[21:18:34] ski/rizon (btw, i hope your previous medic visit went ok, that they accepted your late test)
[21:19:03] ski/rizon ooh .. too bad :/
[21:20:00] ski/rizon hm, so you did a new test, before the surgery ?
[21:20:08] ski/rizon it only took one hour ?
[21:20:40] ski/rizon ah, good news indeed
[21:20:54] ski/rizon how much did you drink, ComputerTech ?
[21:21:26] ski/rizon <ComputerTech> redbull used to give me panick attacks
[21:21:49] ski/rizon sounds like a lot, yea
[21:21:50] ski/rizon hah
[21:22:14] ski/rizon well, that's good at least
[21:22:39] ski/rizon (a few times a year, maybe)
[21:22:43] ski/rizon either
[21:23:00] ski/rizon typically if it's offered at family gatherings, or so
[21:23:15] ski/rizon (otherwise i usually don't think about it)
[21:23:42] ski/rizon i certainly like its taste more than wine (at least ones i've tried, which isn't many)
[21:23:49] ski/rizon ah, i see, sushi-chan
[21:23:54] ski/rizon everything ?
[21:24:45] ski/rizon you know, occasionally, people wake up from it, during the procedure, but they're still paralyzed, so they can't move (and can't indicate to surgeons that they're awake)
[21:24:57] ski/rizon doesn't happen too often. but it does happen
[21:25:01] ski/rizon yea, i know
[21:25:23] ski/rizon ComputerTech : yea, especially if you're feeling the surgery ..
[21:25:54] ski/rizon they don't give you that "giggling gas", right, sushi-chan ?
[21:26:02] ski/rizon (maybe they don't use it anymore .. i dunno)
[21:26:13] ski/rizon (not sure what it's called in english)
[21:27:53] ski/rizon (.. well, there's also local anaesthesia, where the person who's operated on doesn't go unconscious, just can't feel anything in the part that's going to be operated on. i think this is especially used with brain surgery, so that surgeons can ask the patient stuff, to check that they're not damaging important areas)
[21:29:43] ski/rizon (apparently it's "nitrous oxide" (also "laughing gas","nitrous","nos") in english .. "protoxyde d'azote" in french)
[21:30:06] ski/rizon hm, i don't think i've been operated on, put to sleep, ever
[21:31:13] ski/rizon how does that work ?
[21:31:27] ski/rizon oh
[21:32:01] ski/rizon well, sometimes i sit in a weird way, causing a limb to go (more or less( numb
[21:32:59] ski/rizon i remember once, on a bus, i managed to sit so my leg got numb (i didn't notice). then when i was about to disembark, i couldn't feel my foot touching the ground. i almost lost balance and fell .. but managed to exit the bus successfully
[21:33:18] ski/rizon took a couple of minutes to regain sense in the leg again
[21:33:34] ski/rizon (often it also feels like "thousand needles" in the limb, when that happens)
[21:33:41] ski/rizon hm .. not sure
[21:34:26] ski/rizon (when i've slept on my arm, so it becomes a bit numb, i often feel ache in it the day after, like i've hit it and got bruised, or like i've exerted it much (like lifting), the day before)
[21:34:39] ski/rizon (can last the whole day)
[21:35:06] ski/rizon .. there are also people who feel like their arm (or something) isn't theirs, and want to cut it off, amputate it
[21:36:58] ski/rizon i remember reading about an experiment where the patient person had one of their two arms on the table, through a box, and the other under the table. the hand on the table stuck out on the other side of the box. also, a fake hand (looking like their other hand) stuck out of the box as well, beside their hand
[21:37:51] ski/rizon the experimenter used two brushes, to simultaneously brush both the real and the fake hand, for a while. then, without warning, took out a hammer, and gave the fake hand a good whack with it
[21:38:13] ski/rizon the patient expressed it as if it felt like the fake hand was their real hand
[21:38:35] ski/rizon (i may misremember the experiment slightly, perhaps .. but it was something along those lines)
[21:39:09] ski/rizon why not, toni ?
[21:41:28] ski/rizon what about the current conversation did you think/feel was not appropriate ?
[21:43:35] ski/rizon (if you think something that was said, days ago, was inappropriate, that's one thing. but that doesn't "make her inappropriate")
[21:44:42] ski/rizon ungeeignet 1. inappropriate, unsuitable, inadequate
[21:46:09] ski/rizon well, take care, toni
[21:47:22] ski/rizon oh, well
[23:41:55] ski/rizon you're sick ?
