[02:08:57] ski/rizon careful with your arms
[02:15:52] ski/rizon skip what ?
[02:18:14] ski/rizon s/shallows/shallots/
[02:18:25] ski/rizon (i guess that was shallow of me)
[04:02:34] ski/rizon (is old colby like new colby's old man ?)
[04:03:03] ski/rizon there's several ?
[04:03:13] ski/rizon two old, and one new ?
[04:03:21] ski/rizon are they your older brothers ?
[04:03:33] ski/rizon two older brothers, got it
[04:06:38] ski/rizon if you fence with them ?
[04:07:52] ski/rizon (after polishing it, with wood polish)
[04:11:49] ski/rizon played any of the other ones, in the series ?
[04:12:19] ski/rizon (fwiw, the pegleg is attached to a pirate, when you do it)
[04:12:29] ski/rizon ah .. nice :)
[04:12:51] ski/rizon there's a recent one, too, that i haven't played
[04:14:13] ski/rizon the main guy responsible for story and so, came back to the series, for the most recent one, after being away after I and II
[04:14:20] ski/rizon (Gilbert something ?)
[04:15:39] ski/rizon (iirc, the most recent one would be VI)
[04:15:58] ski/rizon came out last year, i think
[04:16:41] ski/rizon anyway, it's (mostly) a nice series .. reknown for its humor
[04:16:59] ski/rizon (and .. unlike Sierra games, you couldn't really die, or softlock yourself)
[04:17:31] ski/rizon darkness ?
[04:17:53] ski/rizon you mean like there being ghosts in the game, and so ?
[04:18:32] ski/rizon oh .. puzzles that make little sense, or is very hard to think of / figure out, itym
[04:18:43] ski/rizon cons
[04:21:25] ski/rizon .. i think there was mainly one, perhaps a few more, puzzles, in MI I, that you couldn't really figure out logically
[04:22:43] ski/rizon dramo : like root beer ?
[04:25:15] ski/rizon i'm sure ComputerTech would like some
[04:25:48] ski/rizon well, he already likes beer ?
[04:26:41] ski/rizon well .. i guess elderberries are dark
[04:26:57] ski/rizon my brother played Oblivion
[04:27:22] ski/rizon perhaps berries in a nice pie
[04:29:12] ski/rizon isnn't he our pie-r ?
[04:32:20] ski/rizon are there many pies, in cajun cuisine ?
[04:34:48] ski/rizon duck toast
[04:47:32] ski/rizon well, i guess ComputerTech's isn't that artistic, either ?
[04:48:22] ski/rizon (.. although, perhaps programming counts towards that ?)
[04:48:48] ski/rizon like compose ?
[04:49:06] ski/rizon in a program ?
[04:49:23] ski/rizon that's nice :)
[04:51:24] ski/rizon help with programming ?
[04:51:30] ski/rizon Tcl ?
[04:52:16] ski/rizon i'm sure ComputerTech would like to show you all the ropes in Tcl
[04:54:12] ski/rizon to program, you not that seldom need an obsessive attention to detail
[04:58:54] ski/rizon is it harder or easier to keep quiet, when not sober ?
[04:59:13] ski/rizon interesting
[05:00:02] ski/rizon .. and then you have to guard their embarresing, or painful, secrets, too
[05:00:29] ski/rizon some people feel a need to brag, or just to air stuff, with somebody
[05:01:55] ski/rizon yeh
[05:03:02] ski/rizon i do program some
[05:03:36] ski/rizon nice to meet you too :p
[05:09:32] ski/rizon "azn" ?
[05:13:06] ski/rizon did they start hitting you back, ComputerTech ?
[05:13:42] ski/rizon my brother once biked into a bus stop wall .. while falling asleep
[05:14:29] ski/rizon i've fallen asleep, while being outside, walking, on my way home
[05:15:07] ski/rizon (somehow kept walking .. waking up, being confused, mixing up dream imagery with surrounding scenery, then repeat again and again)
[05:16:30] ski/rizon oh .. another time, i was speeding down a steepish slope, in a park, in the middle of the night, hitting a fence they'd erected across the road, toppling it
[05:17:08] ski/rizon (there was some kind of music festival or something. i didn't care about it, i just wanted past. some other times, i climbed over the fence (maybe two metres high), with bike and all)
[05:18:01] ski/rizon (well, there were no music playing at that time i toppled the fence. just some guards behind the fence)
[05:18:27] ski/rizon .. iirc, i actually did topple it, more than once .. but next time might have been the following year
[05:19:46] ski/rizon there were these concrete blocks at the base of the fence, to keep it sturdy .. apparently not sturdy enough, for a maniac to come crashing into it with full speed, after the hill slope
[05:19:51] ski/rizon sure, ChRoNiC
[05:20:09] ski/rizon i didn't feel like taking the long way around
[05:20:56] ski/rizon also, iirc, in the will of the person who donated the park to the city, there's a condition that says that it must be kept open to the public
[05:21:46] ski/rizon which it appears that the city is ignoring, nowadays, when letting private festivals fence off part of the park, for some consecutive days
[05:21:59] ski/rizon yea, sure. maybe 80 years ago, or something. maybe longer, i don't recall
[05:23:33] ski/rizon ChRoNiC : well, some times, when i'm going in a particular direction, i do take a detour, in the middle of the night, through a small patch of wood, and then an adjoining graveyard .. it's quite peaceful. and it's nice that there's no street lights in the patch of wood (i turn off my bike lights completely, as well)
[05:23:49] ski/rizon more or less, ChRoNiC. after getting it to the top
[05:26:21] ski/rizon (one other time, i managed to get locked inside an allotment gardening place .. so i climbed over with bike, to get out, that time too)
[05:26:54] ski/rizon (i was helping someone with their garden .. and i didn't have a key for the gate, that time. it was open earlier in the day)
[05:28:29] ski/rizon heh
[05:28:55] ski/rizon .. i guess i can be a bit stubborn, at times
[05:29:27] ski/rizon ouch
[05:29:42] ski/rizon .. so you were hanging, upside down, like the hanged man ?
[05:30:15] ski/rizon wossat ?
[05:31:06] ski/rizon ohh .. never heard
[05:31:30] ski/rizon what was on the other side of the fence ?
[05:32:02] ski/rizon mm
[05:33:33] ski/rizon hm, come to think of it. one other time, i climbed up a somewhat steep cliffside (partly walking, partly climbing a little. it wasn't all climbing), with bike .. to get to a patch of trees on top. i was exploring a part of the city i hadn't really been much in
[05:34:02] ski/rizon makes sense, ChRoNiC
[05:38:22] ski/rizon one time, when hiking in the mountains, we wanted to cross a deepish stream with strong currents. for some reason, there was a high (maybe five metres ?) fence, crossing the stream nearby. so, we climbed up on it, with full backpacks (food, clothes, tent, trash, &c.), then across the stream
[05:39:46] ski/rizon mm, i see, ChRoNiC
[05:40:09] ski/rizon yeap, sure
[05:40:20] ski/rizon it didn't feel *that* risky
[05:40:26] ski/rizon .. i remember another time, that did, though
[05:41:15] ski/rizon that trip, we were going by car, and stopping it at places, to go up in the mountains, visit glaciers, over the day, or sometimes a couple of days
[05:42:01] ski/rizon anyway, we had been walking up a valley, and came up to a glacier there. the front was maybe eight metres high, and steep. ice blocks were lying beneath it
[05:42:46] ski/rizon we climbed atop one of those ice blocks (maybe one and a half metre high), while one of us took a pic of the occasion, with the glacier front towering over us
[05:43:03] ski/rizon a few minutes later, that part of the front collapsed down just where we'd been standing
[05:45:54] ski/rizon anyway .. after that (it was a sunny day, quite warm, for being in the mountains .. i guess possibly around 30 °C / 86 °F), we were going down into a "cauldron"-shaped valley, with a lake in the middle (turquoise, non-transparent, undoubtely from all the rock powder coming from the glacier, it slowly crawling over the bedrock)
[05:46:21] ski/rizon the left side of the valley wasn't as steep as the right side, but it was still somewhat steep (and steeper, further up)
[05:47:21] ski/rizon that side consisted of mostly flat slabs of stone, all being tilted towards the lake. we discovered that it was crossed by many small trickles of water, and many of those were quite slippery, due to algae growing in them
[05:47:47] ski/rizon when we'd gotten out into that, *that* felt quite scary
[05:48:12] ski/rizon one misstep, and the person would have slided all the way down into the ice-cold lake, with full backpack on
[05:48:40] ski/rizon we had to take one step at a time, carefully shifting weight, trying to test the ground with our walking staves, as we went
[05:49:09] ski/rizon several times, we had to, slowly, retreat, to try anew, higher up, or lower down, since there were just too many tricklets with algae at that place
[05:51:11] ski/rizon once we finally made it to the far end, we climbed up a somewhat steeper, but shelved, and covered with grass and moss and the like, slope up a bit, then down on the other side, having to jump down sometimes two metres to get from one shelf to the next below, until we got down to a (somewhat steepish, but not icehard) patch of snow .. and then, at the bottom, we noticed some caves, that we
[05:51:17] ski/rizon a short while (apparently, the air, for some reason, was warmer, inside that. dunno why), before continuing
[05:51:48] ski/rizon anyway, jumping down the shelves felt *much* safer than crossing the algae tricklets, even though the shelves weren't *that* wide
[05:52:39] ski/rizon (i guess it's possible we had some slight euphoria/high, after getting past the algae, as well)
[05:53:42] ski/rizon .. i think i must've been 18, during this trip
[05:54:19] ski/rizon it is gorgeous, out there, high in the mountains, though :D
[05:54:50] ski/rizon scandinavia
[06:07:54] ski/rizon "Well, we all gotta die sometime, isn't that so? There are dangers to be sure: 20 m. deep crevasses hidden under snow, even deeper moulins (up to a few m. wide vertical shafts in the ice), unexpected ice avalanches, etc. I don't recommend novices to get onto glaciers on their own without the right equipment and competent guides."
[06:08:03] ski/rizon "But it is so gorgeous there: ice with a color so blue it almost beggars description -- even in bad weather; savagely crevassed icefalls with ice towers reminiscent of fantasy castles; meandering meltwater streams incised into the ice surface; cracking and creaking noises; vast, gently undulating pristine snowfields in the upper parts -- glaciers seem almost alive."
[06:08:09] ski/rizon "Oh, excuse me -- I got carried away. Happens sometimes when I write about glaciers. Anyway, it's really nice there."
[06:08:13] ski/rizon -- my brother
[07:08:18] ski/rizon try shaking the automat ?
[08:13:13] ski/rizon ("misser", or "miser" ?)
[08:15:50] ski/rizon ty, ComputerServe
[08:19:03] ski/rizon herald : anything for a little juicy drama, eh ? ;)
[08:20:00] ski/rizon Peorth : nice quote
[16:55:49] ski/rizon i'm fine, ty, Hotties :)
[16:55:52] ski/rizon hello glutenFree777
[16:56:08] ski/rizon herald : yes
[16:56:51] ski/rizon jmjl : .. griefers ?
[16:58:11] ski/rizon what brings you here, glutenFree777 ?
[16:58:31] ski/rizon und du, Hotties ?
[17:26:47] ski/rizon curious
[17:56:06] ski/rizon don't they have sheep, rather than asses ?
[17:59:47] ski/rizon well .. i'd say it does
[18:00:24] ski/rizon reminds me of a kids' book, about a Kangaroo without a pocket
[18:00:54] ski/rizon wait .. are those pics from CT ?
[18:03:43] ski/rizon "no comment" would have been fine, as well
[18:06:47] ski/rizon ohayo, ComputerTech
[18:08:08] ski/rizon you could try a Rorschach
[18:09:54] ski/rizon yes, that
[18:11:13] ski/rizon i'm sure CT's ass would be willing
[18:18:47] ski/rizon vielen dank
