[06:08:30] jmjl/rizon hello everybody :)
[06:09:48] jmjl/rizon how're you?
[06:12:21] jmjl/rizon I just swapped the channel without noticing as I get pings on both buffers
[06:13:03] jmjl/rizon lol
[09:07:40] jmjl/rizon hi
[09:07:45] jmjl/rizon how's everyone doing right now?
[09:09:28] jmjl/rizon CT, I can't set the topic, can you set it to: "ComputerTech's Channel =\^_^/="
[09:09:48] jmjl/rizon I'm also good, thanks
[09:10:32] jmjl/rizon I'm on a moving vehicle (not driving it, someone else's driving it), which seems to be working nicely (it's also true that I'm runing a mosh client to another host which has proper internet)
[09:15:11] jmjl/rizon Seems like I had a lagspike where cell coverage was 0 :(
[11:57:43] jmjl/rizon hi ComputerTech :), how's been your day going?
[11:58:25] jmjl/rizon how often does LimitServ update the limit counter?
[12:17:14] jmjl/rizon lol
[13:04:49] jmjl/rizon ComputerTech: I'm good, sorry I didn't get it properly
[13:05:17] jmjl/rizon I didn't enable weechat thing notificatoin
[13:05:21] jmjl/rizon I'm also good thanks
[13:05:36] jmjl/rizon Yep
[13:05:53] jmjl/rizon I think I am able to, so if you want yep, I can help with something
[13:07:22] jmjl/rizon Yep, do you know that ufw exists?, it is easier probably
[13:07:59] jmjl/rizon why it's too weak, what's it's issue?
[13:08:06] jmjl/rizon you want to set a connection limit?
[13:08:29] jmjl/rizon oh
[13:09:01] jmjl/rizon lol, you can if you really want manually add iptables rules, but tbh I just filter everything and allow some ports
[13:09:47] jmjl/rizon oh, that seems nice
[13:10:29] jmjl/rizon you can learn :)
[13:10:47] jmjl/rizon nice
[13:11:10] jmjl/rizon I know a bit of python and I'm a bit rusty
[13:11:21] jmjl/rizon I also know bash scripting but not much
[13:12:10] jmjl/rizon yeah, the thing is that some do, well at least I, and I don't know iptables :P
[13:13:40] jmjl/rizon CT, do you know how I could block certain local users from binding ports in a specific range?, (or making those bound ports not being accessible to the internet, but a specific user be able to), and how to ban (localy) connecting to certain ports if they aren't a specific uid, it'd help a lot
[13:13:46] jmjl/rizon You could, it'd be probably nice
[13:14:01] jmjl/rizon but for dnsBLs there's alredy a tool
[13:14:08] jmjl/rizon called fail2ban :)
[13:14:17] jmjl/rizon It also integrates with iptables
[13:15:37] jmjl/rizon you can make it use dnsbls
[13:15:45] jmjl/rizon making a special jail
[13:15:59] jmjl/rizon you make a special jail, and then make it query every ip of the dnsbl and ban it
[13:16:08] jmjl/rizon yep, that's true
[13:16:28] jmjl/rizon I don't know how you could run a script when a IP connects to the host, but it should be somehow doable
[13:16:40] jmjl/rizon yeah that's also a good idea
[13:17:24] jmjl/rizon the thing about fail2ban is that you can easily set it to block a ip for let's say 15 minutes if they do certain things to a specific range of ports
[13:17:39] jmjl/rizon and then you can visualize how many ip's are banned and everything
[13:18:31] jmjl/rizon your idea of the script is nice, but as I don't know iptables I can't know anything
[13:19:14] jmjl/rizon TIL that you can specify a function to run on an argparse thing
[13:41:39] jmjl/rizon lol, [The Internet Candy Society - Love us some candy.](https://www.candy.org/)
[16:30:14] jmjl/rizon oh CT just went away, and I comen online
[16:30:45] jmjl/rizon lol
[16:31:31] jmjl/rizon how're you going?
[16:32:23] jmjl/rizon has our god tasked you with fixing stuff after them?
[18:22:03] jmjl/rizon ComputerTech: How's your night been?
[19:03:04] jmjl/rizon nice
[19:03:20] jmjl/rizon I'm going good, I'm painting a sheet that I got asked to do with docs lol
