[01:04:04] superkuh/rizon You do rust when you can't stand not updating your compiler every 3 months.
[01:20:06] superkuh/rizon The sky limit in Satisfactory was anything but satisfactory. It only took me a couple hours on my friends new server to hit the limit where everything turned white and you could not go up more.
[02:24:49] superkuh/rizon The gravity of the situation becomes apparent.
[02:30:02] superkuh/rizon I haven't had sushi since February 12th 2020.
[02:30:16] superkuh/rizon I miss it. :(
[02:32:51] superkuh/rizon dgw, I do self sign on my normal domain. But for identity verification you have to use the tor domain.
[02:33:12] superkuh/rizon As for this use case? REALLY? Do you think you're going to get MITM accessing a jpg on my static image host?
[02:33:26] superkuh/rizon Browsers can suck a fuck.
[02:33:30] superkuh/rizon HTTP+HTTPS forever.
[02:33:38] superkuh/rizon HTTPS only is incredibly bad for the health of the web.
[02:33:48] superkuh/rizon I love LE, but everyone using them is bad.
[02:34:14] superkuh/rizon Having to get the continued permission from a corporation to host a visitable website is just wrong and it will backfire.
[02:34:24] superkuh/rizon I will always host HTTP+HTTPS.
[02:34:58] superkuh/rizon It is good.
[02:35:17] superkuh/rizon What's bad is automatically executing any code someone sends you. That's stupid.
[02:36:16] superkuh/rizon We spent decades learning not to execute every email attachment sent then browsers go any make it default and have the *gall* to complain about my self signed certs.
[02:36:45] superkuh/rizon Sorry, yeah, that's just my image host server.
[02:36:52] superkuh/rizon I don't even bother to self sign there.
[02:39:22] superkuh/rizon The future is HTTPS though. Because HTTP/3 doesn't even let you connect to a remote server unless they have approval to host from a TLS CA.
[02:39:33] superkuh/rizon (and to an extent HTTP/2 in practice)
[02:40:40] superkuh/rizon Yes.
[02:41:49] superkuh/rizon That's so annoying about libera. It means I host all my bots from home.
[02:42:11] superkuh/rizon I can't write a sockets based IRC client that does TLS in 5 minutes if I need to implement SASL.
[02:42:35] superkuh/rizon Forcing SASL on public service IP ranges is discrimination against hobby bots.
[02:43:16] superkuh/rizon mogad0n, the complexity of implementing SASL is much greater than the complexity of implementing an IRC client.
[02:45:29] superkuh/rizon Anyway, I just host from home now. But that means I have, like, 4 connections to libera from my IP.
[02:45:44] superkuh/rizon And my bots go down when I put in my RAM.
[02:47:30] superkuh/rizon You can use yt-dlp client to mirror your stuff at home.
[02:47:39] superkuh/rizon Then put your computer into a trash can and seal it with aluminum tape.
[02:47:48] superkuh/rizon Then put that trash can on top of an insulator in another trash can.
[02:48:05] superkuh/rizon Metal trash can, of course.
[02:53:32] superkuh/rizon stateful is hateful.
[02:54:25] superkuh/rizon I thought all of ircv3 would just act like normal IRC for old clients.
[02:54:41] superkuh/rizon That's what I read.
[03:04:42] superkuh/rizon There's one dude who's still living the old ways and always uses netsplits on libera to join where he's banned. And it works.
[03:05:55] superkuh/rizon Imagine if freenode hadn't been many servers run by good people and instead it was one server owned by Freenode LLC.
[03:06:05] superkuh/rizon It's useful.
[03:06:08] superkuh/rizon If only socially.
[03:09:22] superkuh/rizon I'm not sure I follow. Or maybe I didn't get my point across. I'm saying that distributing running of the network and it's ownership over many people is better than one in cases where legal bullshit by assholes like Lee happens.
[03:10:03] superkuh/rizon That's my point. It didn't. It's libera, just a rename.
[03:10:21] superkuh/rizon All Lee got was the name and a few thousand sicophants.
[03:10:39] superkuh/rizon True. That sucked.
[03:10:47] superkuh/rizon And in a sense that was the real "Freenode".
[03:10:51] superkuh/rizon Good point.
[03:15:29] superkuh/rizon I idle on ergo. Friends close, enemies closer, etc. /s
[03:19:01] superkuh/rizon You'll do it better when you take it back up in 3 years anyway.
[14:02:50] superkuh/rizon B..b...b....bird bird bird. Bird is the word.
[14:11:44] superkuh/rizon ComputerTech, BuyVM.
[17:36:44] superkuh/rizon What pre-prompt are you using?
[17:37:00] superkuh/rizon I had good luck with a modified "basegpt" some weeks ago but that stopped working.
[17:38:03] superkuh/rizon I don't really think gpt3.5-turbo is worth the time jailbreaking. By the time you have an effective pre-prompt it's so many tokens long you're back up to gpt3.5 davinci pricing on the API and you might as well use it to get uncensored fun output.
[17:38:36] superkuh/rizon But for interacting with the web based chatgpt I can see it being okay. No per token pricing there.
[17:38:37] superkuh/rizon FOr now.
[17:39:08] superkuh/rizon Er, gpt3 davinci (text-davinci-003).
[17:53:49] superkuh/rizon We're finally living in the scifi dystopia future I was promised.
[17:54:42] superkuh/rizon Re-usable vertically landing rockets, legit human passing AI you can logic to death like it's Star Trek...
[17:54:52] superkuh/rizon It's beautiful.
