Their email client might have a filter that sends invoices to another nondescript folder, while the attacker sends a 'fake' email with the same invoice with new banking details instead

[18:26:56] login is it better to act as if you don't know they're compromised, or to take some initiative (while exposing oneself to legal risk) and send the invoice via a personal gmail or something (that won't get filtered)?

[18:29:03] login they may already have sent the funds to the attacker's bank account (which would be a money mule's bank account) and thus your company's invoice may go unpaid until that money is recovered

[18:30:48] login i mean, it should be standard procedure that if the bank account is different from the one used before, one should check with the invoice issuer "out of band"
