[20:24:05] daniel ComputerTech: Now I am getting some crazy ideas.
[20:24:16] daniel If I wrote a channel access function to the channel bot that was managable via the website.
[20:24:47] daniel Somehow being able to link that to the login for the website, associating irc nicknames per network per user. With verification.
[20:25:28] daniel No not quite.
[20:25:43] daniel Dude
[20:25:45] daniel omg
[20:25:50] daniel Okay I have to fucking do this.
[20:25:55] daniel I just got a HUGE idea.
[20:26:32] daniel An ability to link your IRC username on a network to your IRC Driven account, I could use the bot that verifies net admins to verify the nickname
[20:26:42] daniel and then it will show under "users" of the network or something.
[20:27:19] daniel If you change your nickname you have to reverify basically. So basically I could do 2 things. For channel access, after linking your username to a network and ircdriven user, have tokens generated per user to identify to the channel access bot for access.
[20:27:25] daniel Or allow channel access via hostname/ident
[20:27:46] daniel I would rather not have them submit their password via IRC, too insecure.
[20:27:51] daniel Tokens would work better.
[20:28:04] daniel I'd just make it so irc driven users can generate a token for IRC association to identify with.
[20:29:15] daniel So it would be like /msg ircdrivenbotnick identify login token
[20:29:25] daniel And that would verify them across the entire network for all channels the bot is in.
[20:29:35] daniel I COULD also use this to allow content submission from IRC
[20:29:37] daniel Like quotes and stuff
[20:29:44] daniel That get linked not only to the channel/network but username.
[20:30:45] daniel Well... let's see. If I do that, maybe I don't need to verify or specify usernames.
[20:30:55] daniel Because the access would be handled by the website.
[20:31:08] daniel login ircdrivenusername token would be enough to verify the person.
[20:31:27] daniel I could make it optional to add a hostmask/identd for extra security.
[20:34:58] daniel I can also have this so network admins and channel admins can change settings directly from IRC
[20:36:22] daniel So linking nicknames won't be necessary.
[20:36:35] daniel I'll keep another table with logged in users associated to the network/channel/ircdriven username.
[20:37:13] daniel it doesn't matter.
[20:39:48] daniel its in bots/channel.py
[21:03:24] daniel ComputerTech: does this work for you? https://www.ircdriven.com/network/TechNet/history/
[21:03:29] daniel Like do you see "Add Event"?
[21:03:35] daniel I'm just curious why nobody has ever used this.
[21:04:00] daniel I might have an auto event created for when networks join IRC Driven
