[13:43:21] web-60 hi, I want to figure out why it is that the Ubuntu font looks more crisp, smooth and thin on Ubuntu than on any other distro, like arch, fedora or debian. I have been inspecting the fonts conf but I can't figure it out.
[13:45:41] ludwig bro got existential questions
[13:46:16] End3r I would ask on the forums, an ubuntu dev will prolly answer that question.
[13:46:35] ludwig Isn't it just a font thing ? Did you try to compare the same font on different os ?
[13:47:07] End3r ubuntu has a shit load of customization's
[13:47:22] ludwig course
[13:47:30] web-60 yeah, i compared and use the same gnome-tweaks settings. on i.e fedora 39 the fonts look more thick instead of ubuntu where they look more crisp, smooth and sharp
[13:47:33] web-60 i have a screenshot
[13:47:47] End3r I believe you
[13:47:54] End3r but we don't know why
[13:48:05] End3r that's why I suggested you ask on their forums

[20:03:40] random-newbie Is this the right place to ask a question about Linux? (if not, sorry to disturb y'all, I'm a n00b)
[20:04:18] f just ask the question
[20:04:25] f if someone is able to answer then they will
[20:06:46] nR [IRC-nERDs] <lord-infosec> nope

[20:06:48] nR [IRC-nERDs] <lord-infosec> go
[20:06:49] nR [IRC-nERDs] <lord-infosec> but i might be able to help u
[20:10:01] random-newbie I tried running `showkey -a` and the result is the same for  <Arrow key> and <Shift + Arrow Key>.
[20:10:01] random-newbie Shift + Arrow keys don't seem to register correctly when I'm using a TTY (the one that you bring up by pressing Ctrl + Alt + F1 - F6)
[20:10:02] random-newbie However, when running the same on a GUI terminal, this seems to register both of them correctly.
[20:10:02] random-newbie So far, I've tried a lot of things but I don't seem to be on the right track. I've explored keymaps (the TTY shows none are set, and I've tried playing around with different keyboard layout configurations through dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration , but this doesn't seem to work.
[20:10:02] random-newbie Am I thinking in the right direction, or is there something very basic that I am not aware of?
[20:10:56] random-newbie nR thanks!

[20:21:30] random-newbie I run i3wm over it to get to the GUI
[20:22:04] random-newbie And I aim to get this working in TTY mode.
