[16:50:55] de-facto is there any microvm that does not require hardware extensions, e.g. runs on cheap KVM VPS too? i read about PVM but that requires to patch the kernel and is not very active on repo
[18:09:51] de-facto the problem is that many cloud virtual private servers themselves run on KVM and have hardware extensions disabled for the guest
[18:10:12] + de-facto so you cant run KVM inside those KVM VPS
[18:10:55] + de-facto there is this which would run without the hardware extensions but requires a patched kernel https://github.com/virt-pvm/linux
[18:12:45] + de-facto another alternative is to proxy kernel surface from userland but that is not a real vm then https://github.com/google/gvisor
[18:13:49] + de-facto test inside KVM guests egrep -c '(vmx|svm)' /proc/cpuinfo
[18:16:04] + de-facto basically i am trying to find a good solution for a tight sandbox that could run (untrusted, hence considered compromised) agents, but is portable enough that it would run also on cheap VPS
[18:17:03] + de-facto that is the issue
[18:17:56] + de-facto well if that would be the only problem that would be pretty much fine i guess
[18:19:03] + de-facto id be more worried about last commit " 7 months ago"
[18:29:59] + de-facto you could investigate the rotation curve as circular velocity per radius and compare to real data then adjust your simulation to test for different hypotheses
